HOPE, IN (March 2, 2025) – The Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series has announced that the 2025 series champion will be awarded the Steve Barnett Champions Trophy along with a first-place prize of $10,000. The top 10 in the final points standings will receive points fund money. The 14-race schedule for the Northern Allstars Late Models will have over $120,000 in first-place prize money alone available during the year.
Barnett is a 6-time Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series Champion and was one of the original drivers to follow the series for several years. Barnett, a Franklin, Indiana-native has been Mayor of his hometown since 2017. The only other driver who has won more than one series title is Josh Rice of Crittenden, Kentucky, who is the 2-time and defending series champion.
Along with the points fund there will be other special awards up for grabs including the Arizona Sport Shirts “Rookie-of-the-Year” which will pay $2,000 to eligible drivers. The Todd Steel Buildings “Hard Charger of the Year” will pay $1,500 to the driver that accumulates the most “hard charger” points during the 2025 season.
Other special category awards will be the Jeff Gullett “Crew Chief of the Year” and the “Sportsmanship Award” that will be presented following the completion of the season.
The 2025 season was scheduled to kick-off on Saturday, March 1 at the Brownstown Speedway, but was postponed one week to Saturday, March 8. The race at Brownstown will pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start. After Brownstown the series will venture to the King Family’s Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky for the 49th Annual Spring 50 paying $10,000 to win and $1,000 to start on Saturday, March 15.
