BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 29, 2026) – Joseph Joiner of Milton, Florida became the fifth different winner in five Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels events in 2026 as he won his first career NALMS feature by taking the Inaugural Don Hobbs Classic on May 29 at the Bloomington Speedway. It was the biggest Late Model race in Bloomington history with a $10,000 winner’s check on the line.
Joiner took the lead on lap 18 from Tyler Collins, who had led the opening 17 circuits. Collins and Devin Gilpin had a competitive race for second with Gilpin getting by Collins on lap 26 to secure the runnerup spot behind Joiner. Collins finished third for his best career NALMS finish. David Webb and fast qualifier Derek Groomer rounded out the top five drivers.
In Sunoco Race Fuels Victory Lane Joiner talked about leading the last 22 laps in his first ever visit to the ¼ mile that hosted its’ first NALMS race since 2007.
“Yeah, we rode there for quite a while and threw a lot of crumbs in the high line. I knew I needed to pack it down. We had that long caution there and I was doing my best to pack them in. It was the first restart I had out there without in front of me and this place is so tight. I don’t really want to run in there behind someone on the cushion like that. I knew on that restart I was going to have a clear line out there, so I sent her off in there pretty good.”
